This hat was perfect for my Jane Austen party! My hair was up and I needed the open space on topI like the hat for it's functionality. My head is on the smaller side and I was able to make the hat small enough to fit but it threw off the look of the hat. I had to sew down the band and remove the bow. (I tried to upload photo, but couldn't)I just need to add a ribbon around the bottom for under the chin! It’s not the *perfect* shape after being shipped, but as you can see, it’s not too bad. I love wearing it with my regency dresses :)Love it! Planning on getting one in all of the colors. Ignore my daughter's face, she didn't want to do gardening. Great for the price.I wear this hat every time I go outside in the sunGreat look & fit!I was able to use this hat on a road trip I took to Monterey California. I liked that it folded up to the point where it could tuck in a small space in the car, but then when I toured one of the Missions in bright sun, the hat kept me very well protected. The style worked well for me because my hair is pinned up in the back, Anyone with a bun or a pony tail should like this hat.The only problem I had was that the brim is so large -- actually great for keeping me from getting my usual sunburn -- that I sometimes had a little trouble seeing where I was going! That's probably partly due to the fact that I'm so short, so people of normal stature might not have that problem. However, that is the reason that for me, the hat is four star rather than five. A smaller brim would have been adequate for keeping off the sun and would have helped me see where I was going!I liked the soft gray color a lot as well. It was a nice change from the normal light beige or straw color of most hats, but still neutral. I wear a lot of blue, so it looks nice with that or any cool colors as well as with black. The hat also has a convenient chin tie, so it doesn't blow off if it gets breezy, which it certainly did in Monterey, near the ocean.Beautiful style but it was shipped all folded up and those folds do not come out easily...causing it to look a bit frumpy.
