I think the previous reviewers didn't give this hat a fair shake. For $7.99 I think this hat is worth it. It is very light weight but I think that's by design. I'm not sure about the material used on the inside of the top panel of this hat. It looks absorbent and therefore washable. I would think hand washing would be the way to go. I live in Texas where the temps reach 100 degrees plus and personally I think I will appreciate the lightweight construction when it gets really hot. The construction wasn't perfect but I do like the fact that you can snap up both sides or one side. It would be a good hat for outdoor activities from mowing the yard to sitting poolside. If you don't expect this hat to be perfection then I think you'll like it.
